A Holy Nugget – Tracy Leigh

image_pdfimage_print

“A Holy Nugget”

a little, bitty baby
sound asleep in a barn
visibly ordinary
purely humble majesty
about to change the world
instill the impossible
so simple – still rejected

why do people continue to desperately clench onto their hell
when eternal bliss is free for the asking?

Why You Should Be Celebrating… – George K. Walker

“Why You Should Be Celebrating the Birth of Jesus Christ”

While sitting in the T.V. room spending time with the brethren I heard a comment. “We were all born to die, just like Jesus.” Now I sat there and pondered on this and asked God for His understanding and this is what I got. We were created to please God (Isa. 43:7). Jesus was born to fulfill God’s plan (Matt. 1:21 & 22; 5:17). And that plan is to reconcile man back to God (2 Cor. 5:18), which He did with His life, death, burial and resurrection. So I do not agree with that comment because Jesus was born to give us – the world – Salvation which is eternal life (Luke 9:56). For this reason and the reason below this is why I say you should be Celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ – The Savior of the world.

• With Jesus there is no greater Love. John 15:13
• With Jesus I am forgive. 1 John 1:9
• With Jesus I am saved. John 12:47
• With Jesus I am a child of God. Rom. 8:16
• With Jesus we are joint heirs of God. Rom. 8:17
• With Jesus’ stripes I am healed. Isa. 53:5
• With Jesus I am a part of a chosen generation, a Royal priesthood and a Holy Nation. 1 Pet. 2:9
• With Jesus I have the Holy Ghost. John 14:26
• Because of what Jesus did I am loved and have everlasting life. John 3:16
• With Jesus I am free. Gal. 5:1
• With Jesus the devil has no place here. Eph. 4:27
• With Jesus I am an ambassador for Christ. 2 Cor. 5:20
• With Jesus I have life by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God. Matt. 4:4
• With Jesus I am a fisher of men. Matt. 4:19

With Jesus we have life and life more abundantly (John 10:10). He gives us everything we need and more, so start thanking Him by celebrating His birth with Praise. Hallelujah!

Oneness With Jesus – George K. Walker

“For is we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall
be also in the likeness of his resurrection:” Romans 6:5.

By accepting Jesus’ life saving work on the cross, by confessing our sins and confessing Jesus as Lord of our lives, our old self died with Jesus on the cross. We now put on our new man with the mind of Christ, with His love and light in us so in His resurrection we are new creatures with eternal life given by Him to live with Him. We suffered with Him and we will give glory to Him today and forever. Thank you Jesus!

It is so good to be able to walk in our oneness with God. God gives us everything we need and could ever want when we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior. We owe Him praises every day and we owe Him glory to His name! Thank you Jesus for being so obedient and loving that you gave your life for us, we praise your name for it is power and strength to our lives and we give you all honor and glory for without you we could do nothing but with you we can do all things-Thank you Lord. We pray today that our lives bless you Father for being so loving and showing us what true love is in your son.

God Bless,

The Promise for the Undeserved Curse – Anthony Pallitto

“The Promise for the Undeserved Curse”

I would to share a wonderful secret with you. For the upcoming year. Actually, it’s no secret- it’s in the bible- But few people know about this choice morsel. You never again have to worry about an unjust rumor, because here’s the promise for the undeserved cursed.

In some mysterious way, by the power of God’s Holy Spirit, an undeserved curse goes in one ear of the hearer and out the other. God miraculously helps the hearer to discern what is true and not true.

What’s the most vicious rumor of all? *** The Christian grapevine. This sometimes has the dual function of a prayer chain. One case in point:

I heard a juicy piece about Antonio. He has been seen at lunch with another woman. I am much too respectful to pass on such unverified gossip. However, at lunch with Francisco the next day, I discretely inquire if he knows anything about Antonio for which we should be in prayer. He looks surprised and then he becomes suspicious, exactly what I was hoping. He asked if there was something going on which he might help. I say well, “I probably shouldn’t say anything, but I just heard Antonio is having an affair. (Note the change from seen at lunch to having an affair). We have better be in prayer for him.”

That evening Francisco and his wife had dinner with the Telliricos. In a matter of fact way, he mentions during desert that Antonio is need of prayer.

“Oh, why is that?”

“Well, I heard that Antonio is thinking about leaving barb. He has been keeping a girlfriend in an apartment downtown. Let’s ask the Lord to intervene. Is it any wonder that he is seething with the anger of betrayal?”

The worst part is that the woman he took to lunch is a florist of the highest botany of plants, which was part of a Sweetest Day present for the love of his life Barb. But Antonio doesn’t need to worry the promise of the undeserved curse will soon straighten everything out.

One morning in his walk with the Lord he lamented to the Lord over this unfair criticism. He kindly guided me to a proverb which has changed my life. No longer do I concern myself with what others might say about me. Instead, I simply recall the promise of God to each of us who are wrongly maligned…

“Like a fluttering sparrow or a darkening swallow. An undeserved curse does not come to rest.” Proverbs 26:2

I Am Not Ashamed – George K. Walker

image_pdfimage_print

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ; for it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth: to the Jew first, and also to the Greek” Romans 1:16

Dear Child of God,

While reading Romans this morning I recalled my past and how I was not ashamed to sell drugs and disrespect women. I asked myself are you ashamed of the gospel of Jesus Christ? No I am not. I believe in my heart that Jesus Christ died on the cross from my sins and I will only speak or write of this because knowing I am loved so deeply gives me life and like Jesus I want everybody else to live and have eternal life as well.

Romans 2:11 says: “For there is no respect or persons with God.” God is not respecter of person and I am a living testimony to this because if He can forgive a man like me than He can and will forgive you all you have to do is ask Him. He is a great and loving God that gives freely to those who come to Him but you have got to come to Him. Please be encouraged because God is on the throne and has not lost a fight, to date He is about three hundred thousand wins and no defeats-Amen!

Trust in Him,
George Walker

Why? – Hunter Tokar

Why?

I recently changed jobs. I took a job which pays 1.2 of what the previous job did. When people heard, the #1 question I got was, “Why would you do that?” Even though these people all knew that I had taken a job working full time for a Chaplain in the ministry field, they could not fathom why anyone would do such a thing. For those who could not rationalize it any other way, they began to fabricate completely unfounded stories of my pending termination from my previous job and my “shooting a move” before I got fired. A complete lie, created in order to attempt to explain what they could not rationalize a motive for my desire to serve. And, yep these were men who if you asked them would tell you they are Christians. SAD!

I had a good job, one of the best paying jobs on the compound, but it was just that, a job. I didn’t mind working there, I truly was thankful to do that job and I remain thankful for the time I spend there. BUT, I no longer see myself as having a job, but as being in ministry. To quote a very dear friend of mine, “It’s not a job, it’s a ministry.” If you don’t understand that I probably cannot fully explain it to you.

I love what I’m doing now. I have had this opportunity once before at another facility and it was the most rewarding time of my incarceration. Now I am back in that element. Serving the Body of Believers here under a wonderful Chaplain. It is not always about the money and as long as people continue to focus on how much a job pays and not on the eternal blessings that come with the position, we’re going to have issues as a society and as a prison population.
Imagine if Jesus would have looked at the Father prior to leaving Heaven and coming to earth and said: “How much money does this position pay?” Sounds ridiculous huh? He left Heaven, a pretty nice place by the way, to come here to rescue us. Come on you know the story, all the way from His birth in very humble settings, to His horrific suffering on a Cross. There are people today who remain unsaved because they just can’t figure out, “Why would Jesus do that.” So they make up lies because they cannot fathom why He would do such a thing. They claim He wasn’t really God in the flesh, they claim He was a fake; He was a con-man, etc.

So here’s the question in all of this. What motivates you? Because if it’s money, you’re wrong. If it’s serving others, you’re right on point. Listen I’m not crazy, I understand that it takes money to live. But, to take a job or a position based on the amount of money it pays with no regard as to how it allows you to serve the kingdom of God is wrong!

At this time of year we celebrate the FACT that Jesus Christ chose to leave heaven and come to earth as a baby to a poor couple in very humble circumstances. Why? To serve you, to rescue you. He did it in obedience to the Father, not for any other reason. Your motivation in choosing your job position or anything else you do must be: Kingdom Minded: Service to others first! Try it! Trust me; it pays eternal dividends no money could buy.

Merry Christmas,
Hunter Tokar
