“Who Am I?”
By Michael Wellman
Who am I? I am a normal man. I worry, I laugh, I cry, I get scared, I know how to love. God tells use to “Seek ye first the kingdom of God and all these things will be added to you.” (Matthew 6:33) I know this is true because God never lies, but I am still flesh and bone, I still wonder:
What’s going to happen when I go home in 19 months? How will I support myself? What kind of job will I have? Will I ever be loved by a Godly woman? Will she find me before I go home? Will my mother and step-father still be alive? Will I be successful? Will I get off parole without complications? Will I be a part of something big? Will I be loved? Will someone love me? (and not judge me?) These are things I wonder about…
I am always seeking to be loved by someone, but seems as if I always find myself on the losing end of things (MOSTLY MY FAULT) but I still seek after the one true love in my life (GOD). I still think about this woman I loved some years ago. I lied to her so she would go find someone else because I knew that my life was full of trouble and I just was not treating her the way she should be treated, well I pushed her away and now there is not one day that goes by that I do not think about her, I just can’t help myself, I miss her. The point is…life goes on and takes us all in much different ways, God’s plans for each of us is so unique from each other and we are just in for the ride of our life, so hang on tight because if you lose control of the ride, God will say enough and let you have total control, and well I know firsthand how that turns out. It’s like a fatal car crash, and you’re the one dead, dead inside, dead spiritually, dead with only the small hope of a resurrection by the only one that can save you, God…so reach up to the one and only true God, let Him reign superior in your life. And that true love you have been looking for, well you’ll find in due time.
“What are you thankful for?”
By George K. Walker
“Know ye that the LORD he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture” Psalm 100:3.
This morning I asked myself what are you thankful for? Immediately, I said my daughter, mother, grandchildren and the rest of my family and friends. Then I thought, it is God who hath made us and without Him anything that is, would not be. I immediately said thank you, Holy Spirit, for correcting me.
In one of the letters from Paul, Ephesians 2:10 he says: “For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.” God created us in His image and likeness. We are fearfully and wonderfully made and His praise should continually be coming from our mouths. We are God’s people and belong to Him. So me being thankful for anything or anybody before thanking God, is wrong. So I am thankful to God for my daughter, mother, grandchildren and the rest of my family.
“Thus shall they know that I the LORD their God am with them, and that they, even the house of Israel, are my people, saith the Lord God. and ye my flock, the flock of my pasture, are men, and I am your God, saith the Lord GOD” Ezekiel 34:30-31.
Scripture for meditation
- He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
- I will say of theLord, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.
- Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.
- He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.
- Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;
- Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.
- A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.
- Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked.
- Because thou hast made theLord, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation;
- There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.
- For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.
- They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.
- Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet.
- Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.
- He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.
- With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.
Psalm 91 should be a picture of our trust in God. No matter how intense our fears become we are to push them aside and exercise our faith in God and His Word. To do this we must do like verse one says, dwell in the secret place of the most high. By entrusting ourselves to God’s protection and pledging our daily devotion to Him, we will be kept safe.
“In Everything Give Thanks”
By George K. Walker
In 1 Thessalonians 5:18 Paul tells us: “In everything give thanks for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.” Notice he says in everything and for everything. God knew that evil was going to come in our lives but that does not come from God. But when it comes we are to thank God while in it because HE is with us bringing us through it – Amen! “Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world” 1 John 4:4.
“I will cry unto God most high; unto God that performeth ALL THINGS for me.” Psalm 57:2
Growing up I was taught that big boys don’t cry. This led me to believe that men don’t cry. So I always fought my tears when I was being punished by my Mother, Grandparents, Aunts and older sisters. But reading Psalm 57:2 told me to look at the word cry. The dictionary defines cry as: to call out loudly, shout; to shed tears often noisily, weep, brawl; to utter a special sound or call; to suggest strongly a need.
In Psalm 57 David was running from Saul who was trying to kill him. David hid in a cave and Psalm 57 is what he cried out to God in prayer. David knew that God could and would deliver him so he cried out his strong needs and God delivered him.
So I ask you have you cried out to God? Do you believe that God will deliver you like HE delivered David? God is the same yesterday, today, and forever. So be encouraged in the Lord and what HE can do if we just believe and cry out to HIM in prayer-Amen!
Jesus is Love,
Dear Voices For Christ,
I first want to thank you for the B-Day Card that touched my heart. But I also would like to share what God has been doing in my life lately and maybe give other men and women hope and encouragement.
I am currently enrolled in a Prison Fellowship Faith Based program, and man has it shown true growth in my spiritual life as well as allowed me to grow up maturally. I have just completed a 40 day Devotional with 2 other men The Purpose Driven Life by Rick Warren, and man there is just something about 40 days and God working in your life. I have seen demons in my life leave, I have seen Prayers answered. My prayer life has grown, and my walk has become more secure. I now know what my purpose is on this Earth and what God wants not only for me but for all his children. So I just would like to say what Philippians 4:8 says. Meditate on this things. Keep the good fight like Paul states, and remember you can do all things through Christ who strengthens you. So those who read this remember God has brought this message at the right time in your life, it is not a mishap or a mistake that you are reading this, Only God knows the reason so Find a quiet spot get down on your knees like Daniel did three times a day in Dan. 6 and seek God and be still listen for the small voice. God is there God is real and God is ever present. May God bless the Work that Voices for Christ is doing spreading the Word one story at a time. Thanks for the opportunity and the space to share with the World what God is doing for me as a prisoner and many other brothers and sisters locked up.
Until Next time
May God Bless this Work
Your Brother In Christ,
It is during this time of year that the majority of suicides happen in the United States. It is at this time that we must remind not only our brothers and sisters, but the world that we should not put our trust in man, but in Jesus Christ. We must assure them that whatever crisis, whatever pain, heart aches or hopelessness that they may be feeling; to call on the Lord; he can, and will send a comforter to see them through. Life will continue and resume to have meaning regardless of how dire the situation; rest your woes in the Lord’s loving arms.
“THIS TOO WILL PASS”
i know the pain you feel within
it seems as though it will never end
the load seems more than you can bear
and relief cannot be found anywhere
this road you’re on is nothing new
then an emotional journey you’re going through
the sun will lose its brilliant shine
the taste for food you’ll have no mind
with every thought you’ll feel the hurt
not even sleeping will seem to work
for every moment that you held dear
within its memory you shed a tear
a familiar song playing on the radio
will draw you in and won’t let go
its tunes will take you on a ride
exposing the pain you meant to hide
the time you keep will just slow down
and peace of mind will not be found
there will be days you want to shout
breakup things and throw them out
with all that’s happening in your life
the tears the hurt the stress and strife
i know it seems the pain will last
but i promise you this to will past.
May God bless and keep you all this holiday season.

KEEP THE FAITH
By Terri N. Reese-Green
Praise the Lord everybody. Today’s sermon will be called “Study.” Life on the earth is not a script which meaninglessly acts out. It is a time of deciding whether or not we will live for Christ. The word of God tells us to “study to show ourselves approved to God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, right dividing the truth.” (2 Tim. 2:15). Jesus tells us that He is “the truth, the way and the life and that no man cometh unto the Father but by Him.” (John 14:6) He is our teacher and all men shall be taught by God. Believers who ignore the bible will certainly be ashamed at judgment. Those who neglect the word of God and their true purpose and fail to study. Sometimes we study other people and we study other books but God has asked us to study to show ourselves approved unto Him. Trust Him today and study your bible. The devil is trying hard to stop the word of God in this place but we can put the word of God in our hearts and still do bible study with others.
God bless you,

Praise the Lord everybody. Today’s sermon will be called “No Way.” We would like to talk with you today about one of the sayings that we used as a child. Someone would say something they could do and someone would say “no way.” And as we got older we learned that there was no way we could go to work, go to sleep, open our mouths and say anything without Jesus. Without Him there was just no way. The word of God tells us that Jesus is the way in John 14:6 and that no man can come to the Father but by Jesus. He is the way to life eternal, there is no other way. So just ask Jesus to show you the way today and He will.
God bless you,
“If My People”
By Terri N. Reese-Green
Praise the Lord everybody. Today’s sermon will be called “If My People.” One of the most important things about this lesson is that God talks about His people and what they should do. In the book of 2 Chronicles 7:14 it says if my people which are called by my name shall humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and will heal their land. See also James 4:10. No mine eyes shall be open, and mine ear attentive unto the prayers that are made in this place. For now have I chosen and sanctified this house that my name may be there forever; and mine eyes and mine hart shall be there perpetually. A Christian does not have a relationship with Christ unless he or she has a prayer life. When you begin to understand who God is and what He can do for you and through you, you will obey Him forever.
God bless you,
